uring her tenure as superintendent, Dr. Pat Greco took the School District of Menomonee Falls on a continuous improvement journey that captured the attention of the Carnegie Foundation. Just a few years after their first site visit to her schools, the district became a role model for districts across the nation in process improvement and employee engagement.
Her role was integral in this success, and she was committed to continued improvement for the district beyond her retirement. This meant she had to have a good succession plan in place.
If we wait for critical team members to leave the organization before we begin planning for a quality successor, it’s often too late.
