Principal Casey Nye spends time with the D.C. Everest Middle School Adventure Club

WAUSAU DAILY HERALD REPORTS – “Sarah Merz, a third-grade teacher at Rothschild Elementary, recently was awarded a $3,000 2017 Kohl Teacher Fellowship from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation… [and] D.C. Everest Middle School Principal Casey Nye was one of 16 principals in Wisconsin to receive a Leadership Award from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation.”

“Merz was recognized for her leadership, commitment to positive change and ability to inspire a love of learning in her students,” reported Michelle Rothmeyer in the Wausau Daily Herald.

Everest Superintendent Kristine Gilmore told the Herald “[Principal Nye] is a great example of a student-centered principal and very deserving of this award,” D.C. Everest Superintendent Kristine Gilmore said.”

It is clear that DC Everest has aligned their goals and behaviors. Merz is a leader for her students and Nye is a leader for his faculty and staff. Together, the people of DC Everest are focused on student success.
